TALITHA CUMI

(D) There was a ruler, (A) Jairus by name, (G) he had heard of (D) Jesus’ fame
He came to him and (G) fell on his knees,
My (D) daughter is dying, oh (A) help us, (D) please!
(D) Just then, a man came (A) running, and said:
(G) It’s too late! Your (D) daughter is dead
But Jesus said: (G) Let’s go and see, (D) be not afraid, Jairus, (A) only believe
BRIDGE ONE:
In the (G) house all the people were weeping,
Jesus (D) told them: “she’s only sleeping!”
Then the people (Bm) started (G) laughing him to (D) scorn (A)
But with (Bm) love he took her (G) by the hand
And (F#m) full of faith, he (G) took a stand
And (Bm) spoke these words to (G) her as people (A) mourned…. And he said:

(D) The little girl then (A) opened her eyes, (G) she saw Jesus, (D) loving and kind,
He reached out and helped her (G) get on her feet
Then told her (D) Daddy to give her, (A) something to (D) eat.

All the (Bm) people that were (G) weeping, were as(D)tonished at what they were seeing
